"If you like traditional Philly cheese steaks one has to stop by the original creator of the iconic sandwich. Remember this is chopped steak, and know how to order BEFORE approaching the window. You can find the proper "procedure" on their website if you don't know how to order or you're not too sure. Be aware... they're kind of pricey. Don't get me wrong, they're about 12 inches, however for $18-19 EACH you're genuinely paying for the name here. These are your basic, classic no frills Philly Cheese Steaks."

"I'm from Winston Salem, so this was my first time ever. I've never had an authentic Philly cheese steak, so had to check them out. Sandwich was ok, the service was fast and the crew was cool. It was early so we were the only ones there. I feel later in the day, this corner would be the place to be."

"Welcome to the cradle of liberty — Philadelphia A city bursting with history, culture, and… one of the most iconic food rivalries in America The moment we arrived, we kicked off the ultimate Philly cheesesteak showdown — two legendary spots facing each other across the street Geno’s Steaks vs Pat’s King of Steaks Right in the heart of South Philly, both corners are filled with sizzling aromas, flashing neon lights, and hungry fans lining up for their favorite bite. Pat’s King of Steaks The original, old-school legend — where the cheesesteak was born! They’re super generous with the beef, but the cheese sauce is thinner, making it taste more like a “steak sandwich” than a true “cheesesteak.” If you’re a meat lover who prioritizes portion size over cheesiness, Pat’s will definitely hit the spot"

"If you come to Phildelphia, you have to visit Pat's Steaks. They claim to be the place that invented cheesesteaks, although there is some controversy about that locally. They do have very good cheesesteaks, but probably not the best in the area. It all comes down to the roll. They have a nice chewy roll that is crusty on the outside. They have four types of cheese, but my favorite is melted cheese whiz. If you want to sound local you can order a cheesesteak with cheese whiz and onions as a cheesesteak whiz-wit."

"We are travelers on a road trip, we have visited couple of place in Philadelphia like the USS NEW JERSEY, The Museum of Art and we heard about Pat's Steak!! We stop at the restaurant and this is the best Subs we ever ate! We are going in Virginia in the next month and if we have time to stop again we will come back for sure!"

"Taste was good (good portion of meat and bread), but it will be better with more cheese. It is too cold to eat outside. No inside seat."

"Went to Philadelphia for the history and the cheesesteak. I expected something like this and it was a good cheesesteak don’t get me wrong, but turns out it was nothing out of the ordinary. The staff were as expected, not much but functional and very quick! The place was very empty during my time."

"Pat’s King of Steaks is the original Philly cheesesteak spot and it lives up to the hype. The steak was juicy, flavourful, and worth every bite — definitely the best I’ve had. Service is quick, atmosphere is lively, and it feels like a true Philly landmark. What makes it even better is the history. So many big names have been here, and you can even stand where Rocky filmed back in ’76 (see my pic!). Stick to the cheesesteaks though — that’s what they’re famous for."
